Shanty newsletter - one month to go!

Hi {name}

Ticketed Events

Ticketed events are selling well, with some events already sold out. However there are still plenty of spaces left and a huge choice of events, including superb concerts, fascinating workshops, interesting historical walks and talks, tantalising shows and the ever popular barge cruises. Go to https://harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/tickets/ to purchase.

And don’t forget that many events over the weekend are free. Over 150 events are absolutely free of charge so there is plenty to see and do on a budget. Of course we welcome donations or any monetary support as obviously a large Festival such as ours incurs increasing costs.

Souvenir Programmes

Our Souvenir Programmes giving full details of Artists appearing, events taking place and much more, are also available to download online priced £2.00: https://harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/tickets/, or the printed version £3.00 can be purchased from most of the Festival Venues in Harwich, plus the Visitor Centre on the historic Ha’Penny Pier.

Festival Campsite & Accommodation

Our camper site for self-contained vehicles is now full and so no more bookings can be taken. But we do hold an Accommodation List which can be emailed to anyone still looking for somewhere to stay. Most places are full for the weekend, but there are a few new places coming online all the time so it might be worth checking. If you are interested please email info@harwichshantyfestival.co.uk for a copy.

Merchandise

Merchandise is also selling well. We have a large selection now including mugs, calendars, bandanas, badges, key rings and our t.shirts and hoodies. All of these can be purchased from the Visitor Centre on Ha’Penny Pier and most are also available by post from: https://harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/merchandise/

Shanty Sundays

The last of our Shanty Sundays for this year takes place this coming Sunday 11th September from midday onwards. Mick Verrier and Friends will be entertaining you with sea songs and shanties. Do go along and soak up the atmosphere if you are in Harwich over the weekend.

Although it wasn't a Sunday, we had a last minute session from the Forebitter Crew on Ha'Penny Pier a few days ago. You can catch one of their songs on our youtube channel

Programme Changes

There are inevitably changes to our Programme every year after the Souvenir Programme is printed. We endeavour to keep these to a minimum but please visit https://harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/programme-changes/ to check on these in case it affects your plans. At the moment we only have one change to report and it’s a good one.

On Friday 7th October Hog Eye Men will be singing and running a session at the Globe Inn from 8.00 p.m.

Social Media

The Festival is drawing ever closer and to be sure you keep abreast of all developments keep an eye on our website and all our Social Media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram. If you have any queries please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will try to reply as soon as we can.
