Harwich International Sea Shanty Festival

View this email online

Just over a month to go now before the 12th Harwich International Shanty Festival and things are hotting up.

The programme will be available later today for download and later this week for the printed version.

Tickets to concerts, workshops, barge trips and other events are now all on sale  via the website www.harwichshantyfestival.co.uk

We have Festival favourites Kimbers Men headlining the main Saturday night concert together with the Longest Johns, Patrick & Miguel from Normandy and la Morescha nova from Italy.

Our first Spanish group, El Pony Pisador are a vibrant new addition to the Shanty scene, but with over 30 different guests it’s impossible to list them all, you’ll just have to buy the programme!

And don’t forget the entertainment from Street Theatre, Napoleonic Soldiers, Pirates, Maritime craftspeople and pub sessions.

There are a fascinating series of workshops to attend, barge trips to take and train trips to make.

We can now confirm that there will be a ShantyBus running between Harwich, Dovercourt, Low Road, the Redoubt and the Retail park.

The timetable is in the 2017 Programme which will be downloadable  from our website this week and printed copies available next week.

We have secured Festival parking at Trinity House Car Park, West St. Harwich on Saturday and Sunday between 1000 and 1800.

Please see the attendant on site.

We also have a centrally situated caravan and camper site and tickets for this are on sale via the website at £10 per night.

There’s a light hearted Shanty singing competition over the weekend and a slightly more serious quiz to enter.

Keep checking our Facebook page and Twitter account for more news of Artists and events as the festival draws ever closer.

The final newsletter before the festival will go out in just one month’s time with last minute updates, so keep an eye out for that.

Meanwhile remember to “Drink Beer and Shanty On”
