We are thrilled to announce our first ever Shanty group from Russia. Coming over from St. Petersburg we have now confirmed “Overboard with Robert Palomo”. More details, including photo to follow. Keep an eye on the website to find out more.

Don’t forget our FUNdraising Barn Dance at the Park Pavilion on July 29th starting at 8.00 p.m. Fun for all the family, full details on attached flier or email info@harwichshantyfestival.co.uk for more details. Advance tickets available via the email or from venues in Harwich including Harwich Box Office. Also available on the door.

 And on Sunday 16th July the New Bell in Harwich are having a Real Ale Festival. With 10 Real Ales, a Steel Band, Ska and Reggae singers, Barbecue and Jerk Chicken, plus more. The pub are donating a percentage of their takings to the Shanty Festival so please do come along to eat, drink and be merry and support the festival at the same time.

Don’t forget there are still a few T.Shirts left at £4.50 plus £2.50 p&p and this year’s badges are now on sale. We can include one with your T.shirt for an extra £1, so you can get ahead of the game!!

 Finally, just a reminder for those creative writers amongst you. The Spoken Word sessions were a great success last year and we are intending to make them a regular feature. John Kempster will be running them for us again and once again they will be a strictly nautical theme. Original work is invited, but not essential, so get writing now if you’d like to present something original.
