HISF June Newsletter

Hi {name}

Artists for 2021

We are pleased to have been able to announce our scheduled Artists for this year and these can now be seen on our website: https://harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/category/2021-artists/  Our 2021 Festival has been considerably streamlined to deal with Covid uncertainties and so we are grateful to those Artists who have agreed to appear and we hope we are not working them too hard! Despite the undoubted problems we are encountering, we are confident that we are delivering an exciting and innovative programme of events this year. Our Programming is complete and we are working on the publication of both a printed and an online version, of which hopefully, more news next month.

Funding Update

We are very pleased to report that, since our May newsletter we have received a small grant from Grassroots Charity and also sponsorship from Harwich Haven Authority. We are extremely grateful to these two organisations. However we also received yet another grant rejection letter and our finances remain in a perilous state. Efforts continue to secure funding and we will be launching a Grand Raffle next month which we hope will bring in some much needed cash. If any of our supporters have a suitable prize to offer please do get in touch. We are also seeking donations and sponsorship to help us through this difficult year. Donations can be made via out website using the button on the Home Page or directly through our Paypal account: [email protected] . Prospective sponsors are welcome. Please email us on the above address.

T-Shirts

The 2021 T-Shirts have just arrived and are now available for purchase from the Ha’Penny Pier Visitor Centre here in Harwich or via our website: https://harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/2021-shanty-t-shirts/  And rather splendid they are too! Designed once again by local artist Len Smith they have already been selling like hot cakes. Priced at just £15.00 with £3.00 UK p&p, please do buy early and wear one to advertise our Festival.

Accommodation List

An up to date accommodation sheet featuring a comprehensive list of places to stay has been produced by our committee. With bed spaces always at a premium in our small town we hope this will assist some of you who are still seeking somewhere to stay over the Festival weekend. We cannot guarantee availability, but please email us if you would like a copy: [email protected]
