Hi {name}

We’re nearly there! Just 2 weeks to go until the 17th Harwich International Shanty Festival. And lots of last minute news for you.

Social Media

Firstly a reminder that, due to reasons beyond our control we have had to set up a new Facebook account which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/harwichshanty Please follow this Page for all news as our original Page will be discontinued soon. And please tell all your friends!

Tickets and Programmes

Tickets and Programmes are available via our website: https://harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/tickets/ Nearly 200 of our events are of course free of charge, but if you wish to attend a concert, workshop or similar event visit the website to reserve a ticket. Programmes may be downloaded from our site or printed copies are available from the Ha’Penny Pier Visitor Centre and venues throughout old Harwich.

2023 T. Shirts

This year’s T-Shirts are proving a popular design, but there has been a call for larger sizes. 3XL Tees are now in stock, available again from the Visitor Centre or by post via https://store.harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/product/2023-tshirt/

CDs

And the 2023 compilation CD is also now in stock at the Visitor Centre. Featuring 23 tracks from our Artists this year, the CD provides an invaluable memento of the Festival so make sure you reserve a copy: https://store.harwichshantyfestival.co.uk/product/2023-compact-disc/

Busking Spots

Busking Spots proved a popular addition to the Festival last year and so we intend to make them a regular feature. These spots are open to all comers to perform during the day and can be found at the High and Low Lighthouse, on the Quayside in front of the Lightship LV18 and in West Street opposite Trinity House Car Park. Look out for the distinctive black and yellow posts displaying Busk Stop logos.

Sponsors

We could not run our Community Festival without the help of our band of Sponsors and we are very pleased to welcome Priory Estates on board since last month. Having the support of so many local businesses, is very important to us and we like to think that the support is mutual as we endeavour to promote these businesses and to use their services wherever possible. Annually increasing costs mean that we are always on the lookout for further sponsorship, from businesses or individuals and we welcome any new sponsors and any amount, great or small. Please do contact us at info@harwichshantyfestival.co.uk if you would like to help in this way.

ShantyBus

Don’t forget the ShantyBus will be running again over the Festival weekend to bring visitors in from the outlying areas of Parkeston and Dovercourt. Look out for the Community Bus with our Logos prominently displayed. The timetable can be found in our Programme.

Auction

We have a mandolin and gig bag up for Auction at the Shanty Festival. Sealed bids to be handed in to the 1912 Centre over the Festival weekend.

Car Parking

Thanks once again to Trinity House for allowing us to use their Car Park over the Festival weekend. Access is from West Street near the Quayside. We recommend parking carefully over the Festival weekend as parking tickets were issued last year!!
