Hi {name}

Well what a Festival ! 2019 was the best yet, despite the inclement weather. Harwich filled with music and song and the crowds turned out to watch, braving the wind and rain. So many highlights it’s hard to know what to mention, but the Saturday Night Concert was a triumph and the Massed Shanty in the Church on Sunday was superb.

The Victor cruises continued sailing, all but one and were nearly sold out, the New Scorpion Band’s Friday Night show was a wonderful journey across the ocean in words and song and the Redoubt Fort was a colourful mix of shanties, street theatre, pirates and maritime crafts.

So now all that remains is to thank everyone who contributed in any way towards the success of the Festival, be they artists, stewards, committee, venues, sponsors, audiences, Friends or supporters and to start work on our 2020 Festival.

Plans are already well under way for next year and we are thrilled to be joining with Harwich in celebration of the 400th Anniversary of the voyage of the Mayflower. So look out for some Mayflower themed events next year and don’t forget that for 2020 only, we are running a full 4 days of shanties in the town.
