Harwich International Shanty Festival wishes all friends, supporters, sponsors and anyone reading this newsletter a very Happy Christmas. Just before you all hunker down for your Yuletide celebrations here is a quick roundup of our latest Shanty news:

Don’t forget that 28th December sees the popular Annual Harwich Treasure Hunt, starting at midday from the Alma Inn. A walking tour of Old Harwich with cryptic clues to solve along the way. Suitable for all the family we also include picture clues for younger members. Collect your question sheets and map from the Alma between 12.00 and 13.30 and return by 15.30 for marking. Prizes and a trophy for the winners.

We still have a few copies of our 2019 Calendar left and if you are quick, we can still dispatch them to you in time for Christmas. Go to www.harwichshantyfestival.co.uk to order 

And we have two exciting fundraising events coming up early in 2019.

On 13th February we have another of our very popular Auction of Promises at the Alma Inn. It’s a few years since our last Auction and we have a huge list of exciting lots up for grabs. Your chance to bag a bargain. We will also be accepting bids by post, email or on Facebook prior to the event. Full details, plus a catalogue of Lots, will be available nearer the time, but put the date in your diary now.

And another date for your dairies – on 2nd March we have Kimber’s Men running a Shanty Workshop, followed by an evening concert in Harwich Town Sailing Club. Again there will be more details nearer the time, but make sure you book the date now.
